Trying Something New...

Well, I've finally come to realize that I may have to know how to use Illustrator for a job, so I decided to do some tutorials to get acquainted with Illustrator. It made me realize how much it can actually do (and how little I knew about it). The results of a well-executed piece can be pretty clean and nice!

The tutorials I did are from this website: http://www.ndesign-studio.com/tutorials

6 Parts of Myself Painting

In Baron Storey's class, there is an assignment that focuses on creating 6 characters that are each a part of you, and putting them into an environment where they would all meet. So I guess this is what it looks like in my head! It is still a work in progress (notice the white spots), but I like it too much to not post something. It is india ink and watercolor on watercolor paper. Also included is a horrible phone photo of the line work I started with.

Charcoal Reversals!

This is a self portrait done in charcoal a VERY long time ago (I had blond streaks in my hair!), but I still enjoy it. The word I was trying to convey was "idyllic".

And this is me blatantly copying a famous photograph by Lewis Hine. This was done before the portrait to get the "reversal blood" flowing.

Marcovaldo: The Garden of Stubborn Cats

Inspired by the 101 Dalmatians style, here's my latest project for BFA!
